How to Use NorseLift with Grok, Grok Bot and in Your Tesla

Grok can talk to NorseLift. Connect it once and you can ask about your training, log a session or plan your week, whether you're on grok.com, in Grok Bot, or (with some caveats) in your car.
It's Wednesday morning and you're driving to the gym.
You need NorseLift Pro (paid, gifted or referral) for Connect your AI, and the NorseLift MCP server URL: https://app.norselift.com/mcp. New to MCP? Start with how to connect your AI to NorseLift.
Option 1: Add NorseLift as a custom connector on grok.com
Grok supports custom MCP servers as connectors. According to xAI's Grok documentation, connectors are available to all Grok users, and you add a custom MCP server like this:
- Go to grok.com/connectors.
- Click New Connector, then Custom.
- Paste
https://app.norselift.com/mcpand complete the sign-in. NorseLift opens its own page where you approve the connection. - Start a new chat and ask something NorseLift can answer, like "What did I train this week?"
Grok discovers the tools the server exposes and uses them when your question needs them. On Grok Business and Enterprise plans, an admin has to add connectors for the team first.
Option 2: Use NorseLift from Grok Bot
Grok Bot is xAI's assistant app that runs multi-step tasks for you. It can use MCP connectors too: add NorseLift as a custom connector (in our Connect AI card the steps are simply "Add a custom connector" and "Paste the URL"), sign in to NorseLift when asked, and then use it in a chat. Third-party guides describe asking Grok Bot in a chat to add the server, approving it, and attaching it with @. Check your Grok plan: some guides note that certain connector and Grok Bot features need a paid subscription.
Grok Bot is handy for multi-step requests: "Look at my last four weeks, then build me a 3-day routine that brings up my back, schedule it Mon/Wed/Fri and make it active."
Option 3: Grok in your Tesla
Grok is available in supported Tesla vehicles. Tesla's support page says:
- Connectors need vehicle software 2026.26 or later and a signed-in Grok account in the car (plus an AMD processor and Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi for Grok itself).
- Connectors are set up from your phone or computer, not the touchscreen. Sign the car in with the same Grok account you use on your phone, and Grok uses your connectors automatically.
- Grok Bot in the car needs a SuperGrok subscription.
So the expected setup is: add NorseLift as a custom connector on grok.com (Option 1), then sign in to Grok in the car with the same account. Then ask by voice: "What's my workout today?" or "Log 30 minutes of cycling."
The hero image is an illustration: a NorseLift answer overlaid on a stock photo of a car interior. It is not a screenshot of the in-car Grok interface.
What works where
| grok.com / Grok app | Grok Bot | Grok in Tesla | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Set up | grok.com/connectors → Custom | Add a custom connector in Grok Bot | On phone or computer; same Grok account in the car |
| Voice | Voice mode in the Grok app | Chat (voice depends on app) | Yes, hands-free |
| Log / edit workouts | Yes | Yes | Expected |
| Routines & scheduling | Yes | Yes, incl. multi-step plans | Expected |
| Status | Supported (custom MCP connectors) | Supported (check your plan) | Unconfirmed for custom connectors; built-in connectors are documented |
Try saying
- What's my workout today?
- Log a 30-minute run for this morning.
- How did my bench press progress this month?
- My last squat set was 90 kg, not 100. Fix it.
- Add an extra rest day before leg day in my routine.
- Make me a 3-day routine starting Monday and make it active.
